Why there has to be a vision. • 06/30/2009
Many times through out the year in churches all over America you will hear vision talked about and discussed in meetings, over cups of coffee and telephones. We hear about it so much that we tend to shut our ears when ministers talk about it on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. One thing I've come to understand is vision is not for churches only. It is just as important for you as an individual, your family, your career as it is for a church. Why? Because it keeps you from wasting energy and time on things that do not matter to you and your future. It keeps you from being double-minded and waking up in a different world everyday. People around you can know you are stable and can depend on you when they need to make decisions that include you or depend on what you do, especially your family. When we look at the Bible we somtimes only see the visions that happened supernaturally through dreams or trances like Peter had on the rooftop about the Gentiles. Because we don't always have one of these, we feel like we can't have a vision. The truth is we can. Vision in it's simpliest form means "What end do you see for you?" You can choose an end based on the Word Of God. God said I set before you blessings and curses. Choose blessings that you and your seed can live. The promises of God can give you a vision and end that God said you can have. When God told Joshua to go into promise land, he told the people to prepare provisions to take or last them till they got into the promised land.If you seperate provisions it tells us to prepare pro-visions. Everday we need to make sure our hearts are full of pro-visions. Visions that are for us not againest us. These visions can be based on the promises of God.Do you see yourself in victory? do you see a good outcome for you and your family or do you see defeat and problems? Remember it's a pro--vision.It will keep you on track and excited just like it did Joshua and Caleb. Have a great week!
